Right now the only things I save are left over pieces of sili skin, pieces of transfer foil and foam pieces.  Some where I've got pieces of CDC and Angel Hair which I use for dubbing.  Numerous Polar Fiber "skins" where I've clipped off the longest pieces.  I still have some of the first necks I brought too many years ago to count.  I was just looking through a whole box of bits and pieces of fur that Tony S. sent me may be 10-12 years ago, when I was deciding if I needed to make up some dubbing for the flymph I'm tying for Lane's swap.  They're well seasoned with moth balls.

This is a call to all scrimpers out there (or those who can't throw things
out):

I want to write an article on different ways to conserve and come by tying
materials. For example, I keep all the bits and pieces left over from
spinning hair and stripping feathers (anything left over) and bag it. When I
build up enough, I stick it all in a dubbing loop and make
cicada/caddis/beetle bodies. It works great and gives a perfect mix of
colours and textures. Another thing I do is once I finish a patch of deer, I
then cut out crab shells from it (or use it for mouse tails/ears)....you get
the drift.

I'd like to hear of suggestions from others who have the same "fetish". Also
I'd like to know how you use it.

Thanks all,

Reuven
