Jimi,
Good and timely advice indeed. We actually had a few meetings at our
local fishing club dedicated to this very
topic recently. Stay warm... stay dry... stay happy! If you live in
Canada... well... this is ingrained upon
you at a very young age it is. =)

Fall is with most of us, but winter is just around the corner. Time to
check and change out the emergency gear in the vehicles. Remember, plan for
5 days per person if you have the space. Chang out and replace all water
bottles, (minimum of 1 gal per person per day), replace the canned foods,
note, Wolf Brand Chile has over 900 calories per can, and it can be eaten
cold or hot. Try to plan on at the very least 1200 calories a day per
person. Make sure you have the proper blankets, (wool preferred if you have
them). Toiletries, a simple cook kit and don't forget some cheap
silverware, (don't use plastic, you will regret it). Make sure you take
into account something to flavor the water, (instant coffee, tea, drink
mix).
And this is only the basics, you need to fill in the rest, but, please
check your car kits and have them ready for unexpected weather and delays.

Blessings to all.
