Tight wraps (I'm heading to the tying room myself), Pete Well, I think the head cement does give the fly a better appearance. Maybe not so much for the fish but for the fisherman (fisherwoman too). For painting eyes on the flies it does give a good base, depending on what you are painting them on with, even the stick on eyes (which I usually only use when I am going to epoxy the head) need a good base to stick to.
