Rope dub it is easy, even without using the thread. These strands are long.
But rope dubbing is not for me anymore. It just reminds me about the word
"segmentation"... and suddenly I start to see raffene men running around
laughing at me. "You cannot catch me!!!" I hate any form of segmentation
today. When raffene becomes my friend again, then I will be ready to return
to rope dubbing too.

Certainly not "dubbing friendly"...

Ah, but I'd be willing to bet you can rope- dub it. ;) Nothing quite like
my head nearly exploding from the wealth of info jammed into my skull when
DonO gave me a rope-dubbing tutorial at the Sommersett show -- I just tied 2
dozen prince nymphs with a rope-dubbed peacock herl body, along with the
segmentation that you rarely (if ever) get from the herl - in literally 13
minutes 47 seconds. The biots slowed me down... ;) I tried it with two
strands - a black and hunter green - of ostrich herl for an even neater
effect! Only tied one of those bugs, but it took less than 30 seconds, I'm
certain. Amazing. No other word suffices - amazing. Am amazing technique
that I don't know whether to thank DonO for, envy his knowledge for, or hate
him for... wish I had learned that rope-dubbing years ago! I'm still in awe
- I somehow managed to rope-dub bucktail in a slew of colors (3 fibers of 7
colors) and made the most fantastic bodied fly!
Ok, I'll stop carrying on like a lunatic... I'm just a tad excited... ;)
Pete
