Got that right I "fish" for them, but don't seem to be "catching" any.. I am sooo mad.. I went out for a cpl hours today and the only thing I caught was a cold.. Not even a nibble from a tiny bluegill...I fished every fly in the box.. Nothing... I guess some days you do good and some days you don't in fishing. But I rarely get totally skunked..The water temp is down to 54 degrees and I wasn't seeing any fish on my fish finder in shallow or deep water.. In the coves and on the points.. I don't know where they went LOL.. Chuck

Rick,
I don't want to knock your crappies <G>. I just mentioned them because I know, that Chuck fishes for them, and my example with the hock size did relate to trout.
But that leads over to a interesting question:
As mentioned in my example, trout sometimes are caught on really tiny flies, but I never heard about this for crappies. Is this just a coincidence, or do you have to go down to smaller hooks for crappy just once in a blue moon.
