Just got back from a fun fishing trip in Michigan with Buck Hall and quite a paradox - to be specific about the paradox - they were Doc Gray (Sam) and Doc Neuschwanger (Sam). Talk about a bunch of characters. We all had a ball.

We floated the Muskegon. Beautiful river. Beautiful float. Fantastic fishing. Catching left a lot to be desired - caught a lot of pre-migratory steelhead. So what's a pre-migratory steelhead? About 8-10 inches. Sam tried out his new pontoon boat for two days and had one of the most stable floats of all of us. The third day he rode in a big johnboat with Jim......and proceeded to do a back-flip out of the boat in deep water. Only injury was to his pride. I only gave him an 8.5 for the dive and felt it was worth a 10.

We aw some huge steelies taken by people as we floated past. And even though all the salmon had left the river for several weeks ago, Buck and I saw one huge salmon being pulled out. He/she should have left earlier.

Great weather (got a tad windy in the afternoons) and great fun.

Couldn't have asked for a better trip nor for a better group. Good to be home again.
