Yes, something like the former. Just like libc.so, libqt.so, etc. You
�soft-link� it in during compilation of your own program (with -l), and
during runtime the library is loaded into the program automatically. As
far as I can judge, dlopen() allows you to explitely load a file, which is
great for plugins, but not for libraries your program depends upon. Anyway,
this is getting off-topic.
