I also have the same problem. By a good soul in this list I got a line
to be put in the modules.conf, then it worked in RH 6.2 with kernel
2.4.1 and X 4.0.2. However with same kernel and X in MDK 7.2, sound is
not working for only bttv. It works for xmms. If somebody can throw some
light I will be thankful. additional line in /etc/modules.conf for my
pixelview play TV pak is
options lirc_gpio gpio_mask=0x1f00 gpio_lock_mask=0x8000 gpio_xor_mask=0
soft_gap=400 sample_rate=12
