I had the same Problem with RedHat 7.1 and a downloadet v4l2 . the Driver was loadet but the symbolic link pointet a wrong /dev/* entry after editin the link i had no more Problems. also the whole system restarts with the correct device.
it seems to be a packet Bug and might be fixed at the next rpm packages. -cu- and good luck with LINUX. p.s. if you like embeddet LINUX try debian. it is better downscalable as any other Distribution and it comes with more packages than an pure embeddet LINUX.
