Okay I got kernel 2.4.17 running after changing the compile to one for i586 processor.
So now I have a new problem to solve. The compile for the dc10plus update fails due to missing dependencies. Would some have a list of switches in the .config file for the keernel build that are required to make the update happy. For instance I have: CONFIG_VIDEO_PROC_FS=y CONFIG_VIDEO_ZORAN=m CONFIG_VIDEO_ZORAN_BUZ=m CONFIG_VIDEO_ZORAN_DC10=m CONFIG_VIDEO_ZR36120=m Are this correct?
