  Yeah, the spec was posted to a few mailing lists and discussed there.
At least livid-dev and xpert.  I think this might be the latest spec:

  The header files for the current draft are distributed with X now.  I
don't know (but I believe) that the current i810 drivers in 4.2.0
support a version of the spec.

  The spec might be in the X CVS, xc/doc, but I don't think so yet...
