Hi there, I want to hear if anybody can shed some light on this
seemingly strange behaviour: I run bttv, xawtv plain vanilla SuSE 7.3
style. It works fine. (I had some problems which I thought had to do
with my GF3 graphics card and Nvidia drivers, but I'm not so sure
anymore. Anyway, I think that one is gone, at least I haven't seen it
since I started to insmod bttv and friends in boot.local.)

The funny thing is this:

I have been experimenting a bit with a crypted partition, on which I
run reiserfs, and which I start and stop with '/etc/init.d/boot.crypto
start' and similar for stopping. Now, whenever this is "online", xawtv
just shows a blank screen and no sound, otherwise it works just fine!
I thought maybe something strange had happened with the internals of
my machine, and rebooted. Same thing. Something strange happened to
the loaded modules? A diff of lsmod before and after 'crypto start'
shows just this, as expected:

  2c2
  < loop_fish2 8832 1
  ---
  > loop_fish2 8832 0
  44c44
  < reiserfs 147632 3
  ---
  > reiserfs 147632 2

This is 100% (to date) reproducible. Any ideas?

J.O.
