  "interlaced" is a property of the stream not of the images.  I guess
that's one way to explain it.  If you look at two fields in an
interlaced stream as one image instead of two, it will look correct only
if there is no motion.

  But it's quite CPU-intensive.  If everything is in your favour though,
it should be roughly equivalent quality to watching on a real TV.
