No, however it is well-supported by the Linux IEEE 1394 subsystem, which is not written to implement V4L or V4L2. It's still a reasonably easy-to-use API, though.

This is probably the most interesting thing, if you want to write programs that grab & control the camera. http://sourceforge.net/projects/coriander for a program to control and stream video from firewire digital cameras. This is a prepackaged app that is nice to verify that your camera is actually working. enjoy!
