I have a Pinnacle PCTV Pro on a machine running standard RedHat 7.2
(2.4.7-10). The card plays composite video OK (it looks bad, but I'll live
with that for now). However, when I try "Record Movie" I get the message
"grabbing: not supported". What is that all about? I'm using the bundled
xawtv: 3.54.
What I *really* want to do is just to record the incoming video as mpeg1,
preferably using a command line utility. Is there such a thing? If not,
would it be hard to write? Just what is it that you get from /dev/video?
