When you choose see - has it an eprom on board and of course newer is beter. Resolution generally depends on tv signal encoding system - you can not take more than they gives. Anyway forced fullscreen mode is available in most number of tv apps (vide xawtv). Kernel and drivers. For drivers grep www.bytesex.org they describes needed kernel conf too.
