I did not do this, but the second variant,
-- applied to the kernel 2.4.19, which (with the exception
of arch64 directory - I hope not to use it in this time :-) resulsulted OK

I am not able to translate kernel 2.4.20,
should I upgrade also my gcc 3.x.y from RH8.0 ?

take kernel 2.4.xy
unpack it
apply the patch from bytesex.org/pathes
tranlate all things
reboot with a new patched kernel
take saa7134-0.2.6-0 from the snapshots directory (Feb. 18)
make;make install
[when should I rename/remove the old stuff ? ]
take xavtv
translate
take tvtime
translate
take mplayer
translate
... ?
