That is true for all the very cheap cards with just one bt8x8 chip. But there are also some grabber cards with a PCI-PCI bridge and 4 bt8x8 chips behind it. These cards will show up with 4 v4l(2) devices which can be used in parallel (at least as long there is enough PCI bandwidth ...).
I'm interested in such cards. Can you give some brand&model names?
