Hmm. Thanks. I've had a look at the nvidia docs, and there doesn't seem to be a way to "unallocate" any memory. Since it wants 4Mb of the 64Mb video ram (I assume that's what it wants), I tried limiting the driver's use to 60Mb in XF86Config (VideoRam 61440) but that didn't make any difference.
