Hi Peter,
Supposedly the reason the linux-usb driver for the Vesta Pro is binary
only is because of the 'we're not telling' stance on 640x480@30fps.
I should have read more carefully before buying the camera as I would
have much preferred a properly open-source solution.
Just about to start playing with the device under Linux. Image
quality under 'that other OS' seems pretty nice though.
It does appear to lose a lot of the quality when you ask for 640x480
at 30fps though. Might just be my lighting conditions aren't bright
enough, but it does also seem to be just dropping a lot of the data at
the camera end.
