I don't think it has been fixed. I haven't used any other 2.3 kernels on
this machine due to lack of emu10k (for SB Live! boards) support, but
comparing 2.2.14-15mdk to 2.3.99-pre8, pre8 is noticably slower with a
lot
more hard drive activity than I remember 2.2 doing. I have a 600MHz
Athlon,
and pre8 is compiled for Athlon with the Athlon chipset support, and
useing
"idebus=66" (to override the 33MHz that it normally would use), but it's
still slow at times. That's the only problem that I still have with
pre8,
everything else seems to works better than 2.2.
