I am trying to configure my Linux Mandrake 7.0 to watch TV. I've got an
MiroPCTV card, and the programs xawtv and Kwintv.
When I run xawtv, it runs, but I am not capable of
tunning any chanel (all
the screen appears blue and with bars). I've tried all the possible
configurations (in theory, for Spain the correct configuration should
be PAL
and pal-europe). What did I do wrong?
This is xawtv-3.07, running on Linux/i586 (2.2.14-15mdk)

I think that it could be a problem in the video4linux
configuration. The
guide I am using to configure my card says that it could be necessary
to
compile the kernel in order to configure the video4linux utility. It
says that
I must go to the /usr/src/linux directory and then type: "make xconfig",
but
when I do that, the following error message appears:
make: *** No rule to make target `xconfig'. Stop.
What's wrong with the command?
My last question: I've tried to configure the
kwintv program, but after
installing the RPM file, when I type "kwintv", the following error
message
appears:
kwintv

Why does this message appear?
Please, help me!! I'm trying to move
to Linux, but I find it extremely
difficult. I was able to overcome some difficulties without any help
(i.e: I
could configure my PCI winmodem), but I need some help to solve this
problem!!
Thanks very much.
