no color on S-video input

hi,

I have a hauppage 401 card (the one with stereo and radio, NTSC).

I have used it for over a year for watching TV and it works fine.

I recently tried plugging my VCR's s-video output into the s-video input
on the card.

I only get black and white video. It's very strange. Nothing I have tried
has made it color.

Can anyone think of what might be wrong?
