I'm having troubles making the pinnacle (miro) pctv pro (pal) working under
 kernel version 2.2.13.

The problem seems to lie in the tuner detection, the card is detected but i
 can't tune any channels.

First problem i had, the card was not auto-detected. kernel log

 May 30 01:48:53 costanza kernel: i2c: initialized
May 30 01:48:53 costanza kernel: Linux video capture interface: v1.00
 mMay 30 01:48:53 costanza kernel: bttv0: Brooktree Bt878 (rev 17) bus: 0,
 devfn:
 May 30 01:48:53 costanza kernel: bttv: 1 Bt8xx card(s) found.
 May 30 01:48:53 costanza kernel: bttv0: fader chip: TEA6300
 May 30 01:48:53 costanza kernel: bttv0: model: BT878(Hauppauge new)

After i forced the card type i got these on the logs

 Aug 1 10:39:36 costanza kernel: i2c: initialized
Aug 1 10:39:36 costanza kernel: Linux video capture interface: v1.00
 Aug 1 10:39:36 costanza kernel: bttv0: Brooktree Bt878 (rev 17) bus: 0,
 devfn:
 Aug 1 10:39:36 costanza kernel: bttv: 1 Bt8xx card(s) found.
 Aug 1 10:39:36 costanza kernel: bttv0: fader chip: TEA6300
 Aug 1 10:39:36 costanza kernel: bttv0: model: BT878(Miro pro)
Aug 1 10:39:36 costanza kernel: bttv: PCI display adapter: Matrox G200.

but i still can't tune any channels. (it works fine on windows)

 Tried kwintv and xawtv.

 in /etc/modules.conf i have

 options bttv card=11
 alias char-major-81 bttv

Is the auto detection of the tuner chip broken?

 Any tips??

 TIA.
