I had been playing with xawtv and captions. I did some hacking to make captions looks better on it. However, nothing of this qualify so far for release. Nevertheless, also in part of the hacking itself I made a script to better display captions under xawtv. I though I would release the script itself. It fixes several problems original implementation suggested by Gerd had. The script is at http://www.eax.com/other/run-captions see top of the script on comments how to get it running.
