Okay, this worked, but is rather confusing. You first have to enable I2C
bit-banging interfaces and then you can see the bttv driver option, which
has a help page saying you need I2C bit-banging enabled. Catch-22 I guess.

Sorry Gerd, yes I should have checked the .config for the
CONFIG_I2C_ALGOBIT=m line. I've read the README though, can't blame me
there:-)
