Is there a way to do it without X, as I am running this all remotely
without an X server. (Which is why mp1e appealed to me.)

I'm trying to use mp1e and then mpeg2divx, but it's not functioning as
expected...

$ mpeg2divx out.mpg out.avi
Available CPU flags: fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 sep mtrr pge mca
cmov pat pse36 mmx fxsr sse
598.069 MHz Celeron (Coppermine) processor detected
ifiles 0 assigned out.mpg

It simply freezes there, sucking 100% of my cpu time...

Any help appreciated.  Thanks!
