I don't know anything about WebTV, but for me using an old Hauppauge card, a Matrox G450 video card and Xfree86 4.0.2, it's at least much better than the crappy app that came with the TV card. Instant full screen by hardware scaling (I work on 1600x1200). And even though the UI of xawtv is a bit spartan, I'm quite fond of it, using the mouse wheel to zap back and forth through the channels and having the most used ones readily available on the number keys. -- The idea is that the first face shown to people is one they can readily accept - a more traditional logo. The lunacy element is only revealed subsequently, via the LunaDude.
