On the question of 1.8-pre3,
I discovered the other day it triggers a problem with some versions of
gcc, in particular the one that comes with 6.2. If -O2 is removed
when compiling the problem goes away.
The problem seems to be that floating point arithmetic is stuffed.
This is manifested in the application with no video being encoded when
doing system streams.
