I just upgraded my Debian box to the testing distribution (XFree86 4.02),
and got X working properly again.

I also upgraded to the Latest Xawtv 3.40 .debs.

I turned on DGA to make Xawtv happy and it runs with no complaints.

I now find that I have to turn on grabdisplay mode to get tv video, and I
can't use overlay mode like I used to.
Overlay yields a blank screen.
With grabdisplay the video frame rate is now much slower than before, and of
course CPU load is higher.

Why can't I use overlay any longer?

I am running kernel 2.2.17 and bttv version 0.7.47.

Do I need to also recompile bttv given the new system setup?
Upgrade to with 0.7.60?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
