I have recompiled my Redhat 7 to use 2.4.3. So I use a WinTV card to be
encoded with RealProducer. The kernel compile goes well (I guess) and
2.4.3 boots fine.

What next to get this thing working? I have downloaded xaw-3.42 and
compiled it into rpms and have installed all the xaw packages.

Now I have rebooted and my next step would be to start X windows, open a
terminal and type:

[mstearne@penguin /boot]$ xawtv
This is xawtv-3.42, running on Linux/i686 (2.4.3)
Xlib: extension "XVideo" missing on display ":0.0".
The app-defaults file is not correctly installed.
Your fault (core dumped)

MY FAULT??? :-)

I don't know what to do next. How do I see if the card is even
recognized?

Also as a side question I have recompiled the kernel and think I have
everything in place but there is still a symlink in /boot/ called
module-info to module-info-2.2.16-22
(module-info->module-info-2.2.16-22)

How do I get the module-info-2.4.3 for this kernel? Where is that? Is
it generated in /usr/src/linux or do I run a command to generate it?

Thanks,
Michael
