Maybe it has nothing to do with bttv, as I had the same problem while
PCI initialisation code changed in 2.4.1(?)... My problem was the
misbehaving SiS chipset on my board.
For further details try to search in the linux-kernel archives with
keywords like irq, pirq, pci, usb and my name.
