do_select() isn't exported to modules (or at least it wasn't in 2.2),
and the compat layer needs to select on the V4L2 driver to implement
VIDIOCSYNC. 

If do_select() is exported to modules, then the select stuff in the
compat module goes away (call the real do_select() instead of
my_do_select()).
