Sorry, I do not understand what you mean. Is it that JPEG is *binary* while ppm/pgm (with which I am not familiar) have an ASCII output format? I doubt very much you will be able to ascify and save 25 fps.

ffmpeg is able to save in pgm, ppm, jpg, at one frame per file.
