The big fish are constantly consuming us, but the small and quick fish do survive. Google and Yahoo will soon take their stake in video blogging, along with Apple, and they will inherently have a large user base. However, we all know that does not mean they'll be the best. Look at how iTunes stole the podcasting market over night, but it has its flaws over the alternatives.
As for doomsday theories, VlogMap will probably be one of the first to get eaten. All iTunes (or any other aggregator) has to do is start reading geolocations from the feeds and provide a map. However this may not be very good because I know all too well how many non-vlogs and bad locations get submitted. As for the FireANT crew, they have done (and will continue to do) a lot more for this community than the actual software download. They're helping to define this emerging culture/media. Their passion and work-ethic will provide more opportunities. Ultimately it comes down to the connections we make with each other. The means will become invisible. -Matt --------------------------- http://www.leanbackvids.com http://www.vlogmap.org --- In [email protected], "aroundtheperimeter" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > it seems to me as soon as google does a video aggregator. there will > be no need for fireant. sure they will be some die-hard fireant fans, > but the masses will go to google if it easier to use and better. i > would like to see fireant stay the leader in video aggregator's and > not become obsolete. > > Also to convince my friends to watch video it would be easier to tell > them to go to this link "www.example.c" then to tell them to download > fireant.
