Hello All, We met some of you -- but judging by how big this group is, not ALL of you :-) -- at Vloggercon that snowy day in January. It's been exciting to watch videoblogging evolve since then. I'm mostly a lurker here, but I posted an introduction awhile back and then something asking for some private beta testers who wanted to give our site a whirl. In that vein, I wanted to invite you to try out our new video blogging site at http://www.vlogville.com. Now the caveats....
1) It requires software installation. We hate spyware and spent our own money to sign our code in an effort to minimize the concerns that people might have. Why are we using software? Simple -- we want people to be able to post longer, higher quality videos. Since bandwidth is expensive, the Vlogville community will participate in distributing the files -- kinda like P2P, but more secure. We're planning to add a new feature soon which will let you control how much bandwidth you contribute. 2) It's Windows/IE only. We would LOVE to do a Mac version as well as a Firefox version, but there are only three of us and we already barely sleep! 3) It's not beautiful, but that's what happens when programmers handle UI design. Fortunately, someone is helping us out and we hope to have an improved look in the near future. 4) It's beta.
