You can host on Archive.org but it's probably best to use OurMedia which is a service that was set up by Archive.org especially for personal media producers. The one issue you might have is slow or spotty service. Things tend to take longer to download from Archive.org than from a paid host. If you're using Dreamhost you should be fine with them. They provide lots of bandwidth and seem to be pretty fast. They're my host of choice. Of course if you want to also upload to Archive.org you can do that too, just to save your work for posterity.
