I think the term that might be more accurately reflective is 'cultural imperialism', but community was substituted in light of the thinking that we view ourselves as a community more than a culture in most cases? I also adore how inflammatory Imperialism is as a word, but go 10,000 m with your reading, not so much a direct literal interpretation.
