Hi Bev, I think you might be having trouble finding what you're looking for because of terminology - rather than a Player, try looking for a DV Deck - you should be able to hire one from a local media company (from Yellow Pages?) for just a few dollars - they're expensive to buy.
They always advise that you should use a DV deck instead of your camcorder, both to avoid breaking the DV connection and to avoid wear on your tape heads & mechanism.
