Thanks for the comparison videos. I've been curious about these camcorders for a while. I almost bought one just for the heck of it but the price wasn't right.
The .avi video quality looked ok for outdoor shots and Zooey was in motion enough so that I could see if there was any artifacts around her. I did notice a bit in the background grass from time to time. I'm glad that I can bypass proprietary software and edit as normal. What kind of batteries does the gizmo take and how long do/did they last?
