Hey David,
Flash playback shouldn't be a problem on any Mac, no matter what PC  
nerds will tell you.  Have you tried running it in different  
browsers? You could try CTRL+Clicking on a flash player and changing  
some of the things in the Settings and Quality menus.
If that doesn't work, try running the uninstall program which you can  
download here

(if that link doesn't work, google Adobe Flash Uninstall)
Then reinstall it.  Shouldn't take too long.  Quicker than messing  
about with trial and error, maybe.
