I got a letter suggesting 3 programs that I thought I would mention - Anim9tor - Corel's Cool 3D and Dollysoft.
I also found a 2D programt that was actually more of what I had in mind - it's Toon Boom Studio. It's only $ 149 with an academic discount, and it really looks good. FYI Milt
