I just read this blog post and came across this paragraph:

For some reason it just hit me:
the way to be popular is to make videos about what is happening right now.
So if people are talking about Facebook, make a funny video about Facebook.
This is what talking about, this is what is being searched for online.
This is "popular culture".
This is how to be popular.
I'm a retard for not having really grasped this concept.
