Cool. I was going to ask if anybody who is experimenting with live video, was using effects, or had started to consider what their ultimate live setup would consist of.
Reason I ask is that Ive always been interested in VJ tools for live video, being used for other applications. I am rather interested in systems that could aid an individual, enabling them to control a 'live personal tv station'. Now for most people doing that sort of thing, I imagine they dont have too many over the top needs, but all the same I am interested in the possibilities for controlling multiple camer feeds, effects, video clips, etc. Especially when coupled with some relatively cheap hardware, such as midi controllers or ipod touch & the appropriate software, which can be more fun or better at controlling certain parameters live. I just went overboard and got one of these extremely wonderful and flexible controllers: http://www.jazzmutant.com/ Its a joy, and besides using it to control music,it has such potential for controlling things built using the (free) Quartz Composer on the Mac, opening up a lot of potential for realtime video stuff. If only I wasnt so darn shy, Id be all over live video, but for now I will just experiment and hopefully have something that may be of use to others at some point (the stuff I do in Quartz wont have to be used with the expensive jazzmutant). Im just finally getting a blog together and will post a link once theres some content, it will mostly document the experiments.
