It's been all over the talk show circuit in NYC this week. Was surprised how the guest on WNYC from the NY Times reported how The Daily News came down hard on the rider in their articles about the incident. 14 minutes in. Critical Mass was characterized as "obnoxious" by the Daily News and the NY Times reporter.

The organized / unorganized nature of Critical Mass is inherently threatening. They talk about Critical Mass being a "...Laboratory for police work..." That Critical Mass is fast, mobile, national, and seemingly growing in numbers & power, takes charge of the streets during the course of their rides, makes law & order types justifiably nervous. Watched some of the archived YouTube footage of previous rides where video / cell phone cameras are so numerous as to nearly obscure the view of what's happening. That was a 'wowser' moment.
