I've had a good experience, mostly, with lulu publishing this book: http://www.noendpress.com/caleb/edtech/index.php I make a little money off of it, mostly the PDF $3 download. I chose lulu as my publisher and got an isbn and the book is on Amazon. But that was before Amazon had their service, so I don't know about how good the Amazon one is.
