Aloha List Mates,

Our VHS copy of a 1983 NOVA program entitled "Papua New Guinea: Anthropology on
Trial" has been eaten beyond repair by the VCR.

I am seeking an archival copy in order to still make the film available to
students. We will abide by the restrictions limiting the item to in-library use
only.

Can anyone help us out with either a copy or is willing to make an interlibrary
loan so we can make a copy?

Lastly, since I am making an archival backup of a damaged item, is it
permissible to also make a format change to DVD, or must we keep the format as
VHS?

Thank you for your assistance.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
