Hey deg

I think an update would be groovy...on the other hand, putting this list
together initially turned out to be nearly impossible...for one thing, the
issue of "whose core list?" keeps popping up: public libraries, school
libraries, higher ed...the list would be totally unmanageable if it tried
to cover all bases. There were lots of other problems, but I think giving
it another try might be fun and useful, nonetheless.

PS: I've been trying for years to get Bowker (or whoever currently
publishes it) to come out with a Videos for College Libraries, similar to
it's Resources for College Libraries. They keep ignoring me...big
surprise!

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
