Pretty much the same. During the academic year. July 1 fiscal year start. Primarily faculty requests, but I sign off on all video purchases so that I know what's getting requested before we end up purchasing 3 films on the same hot topic.
Emails good. Postcards good. Catalogs okay. If you send me info that requires opening an envelope, it goes in a box that I'll get around to reading. Eventually. VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition,bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries,educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
