FYI for those not aware, Kickstarter has become a new way to fund indie
films and films projects. Anne Aghion the director of the Gacaca films about
post genocide Rwanda which I regularly plug here, just did a successful
Kickstarter campaign to open a media archive in Rwanda. She raised $47,000
with a goal of $40,000. I don't know how successful most of these are, but
it is a cool idea and not just to make film themselves, but in Anne's case
to help preserve and make them available

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
